Yellow Septarian Hand Polished Pebble, crystal for sale from Madagascar. This gorgeous 7.8cm long crystal dates from the Cretaceous period. It originated as a fossilised mud ball, which over millions of years underwent cycles of cracking and drying out, allowing yellow Calcite to leak into the cracks to form the distinctive banded patterns displayed in this unique stone. Also known as the Dragon Stone, Septarian patterns are said to resemble dragon skin. 

The crystal has been carefully hand-polished to enhance the rich, earthy grey-brown and yellow tones present in it and to create a smooth, shiny surface.
