Druzy Purple Moss Agate Pebble 6.2cm
Purple Moss Agate crystals for sale from India.
This gorgeous Purple Moss Agate Pebble, measuring 6.2cm long, is a rare new crystal find from India.
This Purple Moss Agate Palm Stone, when lying flat on a surface, displays a deep grape-purple hue, whilst when held up to the light, it displays a lovely subtle, lilac-grey translucency.
This beautiful purple crystal displays the same green moss-like patterns so revered in standard Moss Agate/ Tree Agate, but instead of tree-like white and green colouring, Purple Moss Agate stuns with translucent Purple Chalcedony, ranging in hue from lilacs and lavenders to hints of deep indigo.
We have managed to source a small amount of this rare crystal from India, and are currently polishing the rough material into a variety of crystal shapes.
This beautiful Purple Moss Agate Palm Stone would make a wonderful companion piece to a Moss Agate/ Tree Agate specimen, as well as to a piece of Quartz Agate, with its striking grey-blue Agate and large Quartz crystal cavities.
This Purple Moss Agate Stone also displays some small natural crystal cavities lined by sparkling, druzy Quartz crystals.
What Is Moss Agate Made Of?
Moss Agate is a form of Agate, a member of the Chalcedony group of stones, which in turn is a member of the large Quartz family.
All types of Quartz are composed from silica (otherwise known as silicon dioxide), but differ due to their crystal structures.
Chalcedony gems are microcrystalline in structure, which means you can't see the crystals inside the stone.
Moss Agate Appearance
Also known as Tree Agate, this stone displays a milky white Quartz base alongside bluish-grey tones.
Moss Agate is famously adorned with leafy green patterns resembling moss growth: these are the result of green dendritic mineral inclusions of manganese and iron within the stone.
Other Types Of Agate
Agate is a versatile stone which comes in many colours, forms, and patterns.
Cherry Blossom Agate is another popular form of Agate. It displays stunning pink and cream colours with a unique pattern resembling Cherry Blossom flowers: for this reason, it is also called Flower Agate.
Other forms of Agate include Blue Lace Agate and colourful Crazy Lace Agate.
Where Does Moss Agate Come From?
This lovely stone is found in many countries worldwide including Brazil, Russia, and Australia.
Specifically, this particular piece was sourced from India.
