Ammonite Lytoceras 11.8cm
Spectacular Lytoceras Ammonite fossil in its naturally found state from Madagascar. This Ammonite has been carefully prepared and is in excellent condition considering it swam the seas 163 million years ago. This particular Ammonite fossil is from the Jurassic period and oroginated from Tulear in the southern part of Madagascar, an island of the east coast of Africa. Various different species of Ammonite are found inthis remote location, and the seas were once full of these molluscs. Ammonites are an extinct group of marine molluscs in the sub-class of Ammonoidea of the class Cephlapod. This Ammonite comes complete with display stand.
