Cleoniceras red iridescent ammonite fossil from Madagascar very well preserved ammonite with glowing red iridescent colour. This 5.21cm wide ammonite was found in the jungle of Mahajanga on the north east coast of Madagascar an island off the east coast of Africa. The dazzling colours found in these ammonites is produced by the shell of the fossils being replaced by Aragonite to give an opal like effect. These ammonites are often referred to as fire ammonites, opalescent ammonites or just iridescent ammonites. The ammonite was specially selected for its quality and was prepared in our workshop in the United Kingdom and is of a very high grade.
