Ammonite Cleoniceras 7.8cm
Cleoniceras Ammonite, natural iridescent fossil for sale from Madagascar. This fantastic 7.8cm wide Ammonite has been carefully prepared in our UK workshop to preserve its natural, unpolished shell which showcases a spectacular iridescent effect, with flashes of colours across the spectrum including vivid greens, blues, and reds.
Sourced from the jungles of Mahajanga on the North West Coast of Madagascar, and dating from the Cretaceous Period at 120 million years old, this piece is a stunning historical item. Various different species of Ammonite are found in this difficult and remote location, and the seas were once full of these molluscs. Ammonites are an extinct group of marine molluscs in the sub-class of Ammonoidea of the class Cephalopod. This rainbow Ammonite comes complete with display stand.
